Include any error message and a screenshot if useful. Please remove passwords, payment information and sensitive personal details. Support is for the app and does not provide emergency, medical or individualized allergy advice.
Restore a purchase
Use the Apple account that made the purchase, then choose Restore purchases on the paywall or in Settings. A working internet connection may be needed. If access still does not return, contact support with the plan name and error message. Do not send your Apple account password.
Manage a subscription or request a refund
Open Apple's subscription settings to manage or cancel the annual plan. Deleting Sousbook does not cancel it. Lifetime is a one-time purchase without recurring billing. Refund requests can be made through Apple's Report a Problem page.
Check an imported recipe
Some websites cannot be imported automatically. Try pasting the recipe text or scanning a clear, well-lit copy you have permission to use. Check imported ingredients, quantities, temperatures and steps against the original before cooking. Read the food safety guidance.
Import a TikTok or Instagram recipe
In TikTok or Instagram, open the post’s Share menu and choose Sousbook. If Sousbook is not listed, use More, or copy the link and paste it into Sousbook’s Add recipe flow. A shared link keeps the original source; Sousbook does not automatically fetch the post, caption or video, and does not transcribe videos.
- Use the caption: Copy the recipe caption or recipe text you have permission to use. In Sousbook’s social import review, paste it into the caption field and choose Extract ingredients and directions. Text included by the sharing app can also be reviewed there.
- Use screenshots: Take clear screenshots of the ingredients and directions, then choose Read a screenshot in the social import review. You can also use Add from a photo to select multiple recipe images. Sousbook reads the text on your device; a photo of a finished dish alone cannot provide its recipe.
- Review before saving: Compare the title, ingredients, quantities and directions with the original. Correct missing or misread text before saving. If you need more time, choose Keep for later and return to the draft in Sousbook.
If the post only explains the recipe aloud, enter or paste the ingredients and steps yourself. Use recipes and screenshots you have permission to copy, and follow the food safety guidance before cooking.
Recipes, iCloud and backups
Your cookbook is stored on your device. Private iCloud sync depends on your Apple account, available storage, connectivity and supported app configuration. The iCloud row in Settings reports account availability; it does not confirm every change has synced. Keep independent copies of important recipes. If data seems missing, contact support before deleting the app or clearing iCloud storage.
Cooking timers
Allow notifications in iOS Settings if you want alerts outside the app. Focus modes and notification settings can affect delivery. Timers do not verify doneness: use a food thermometer and current food-safety guidance.
Privacy requests
Email support with “Sousbook privacy” in the subject. See the Privacy Policy for what the app processes, retention limits and deletion options.
