Heirloom

Bring family letters back into focus. Photograph a handwritten letter, a page of cursive, or an old diary, and Heirloom turns it into text you can actually read — modernized, translated into English, or read aloud.

Questions

Can Heirloom read cursive handwriting?

Yes. It is built for handwritten letters, cursive, diary pages and old documents. Results depend on the writing and the photo quality, so check important names, dates and uncertain passages against the original.

Can it translate old letters written in another language?

Yes. For non-English writing, Heirloom gives you an English translation alongside a modernized version in the original language.

Is it useful for genealogy and family history?

That is what it was made for — turning a box of family correspondence into text you can read, search, correct and share with relatives, while keeping the original pages with each letter.

Where are my letters stored?

Saved letters and your edits stay on your device. Reading a letter needs an internet connection, because the photos you select are sent to the reading service for transcription.

Can I fix mistakes in the transcription?

Yes. Edit the transcript, modernized text or translation on your device without another AI request. Heirloom keeps the original AI text and reminds you to check the related versions after a correction.
